Early hole traps Brewers, 8-5

Whenever your starting pitcher gives up 6 runs in 1 2/3rds innings, odds are you’re going to have a long night.
Jeff Suppan did just that, eventually leading to an 8-5 Brewers’ loss Friday night.
Not only did Suppan not have it on the mound, he didn’t have it in the field, either…a throwing error to Prince Fielder in the top of the first made for a longer inning and a longer night. Suppan left in the 2nd after having allowed 7 hits and a pair of walks.
Still, the offense cut the lead to 6-5 after the 3rd inning, thanks to 2-run homers by J.J. Hardy in the 1st and another by Fielder in the 3rd.
But Mark DiFelice and Carlos Villenueva each allowed an earned run as well out of the pen. The Orioles out hit the Crew, 13-7, on the night, too.
