Your Morning Dump… Where HGTV hooked Paul Pierce up

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.

I think the moment that blew me away was the reveal of the amazing new locker room, all because of my pals Cortney and Bob Novogratz of HGTV’s “Home by Novogratz.”

You gotta check out the episode on Saturday on HGTV where they officially reveal it, though. I can’t wait.

Bob and Cortney overhauled the whole place. I still can’t believe it. They hooked up Inglewood HS with a spankin' new locker room complete with an area for kids to study before and after practice. I barely recognized it. Bing donated a bunch of new computers for the study area, which will really help kids with their school work, and of course all new exercise equipment. I was also flattered because they hung up framed versions of my old jerseys from Kansas and Inglewood. And of course my C’s jersey! I got to see it before Bob and Cortney showed the rest of the kids – and I gotta say, I was jealous, but these kids really deserve this and it’ll definitely help the whole community.

Here's a sneak preview of what you can expect from the show from the HGTV website

Basketball and children's health are close to Robert and Cortney's heart, so they dive into the project with local designer Suzanne Kisbye tearing up the beat up linoleum floors and turning them into parquee floors, ala the infamous Boston Garden. They mix flea market finds with high end modern furniture and a high design colorful lighting cluster creating an urban loft inside a high school. The biggest transformation is covering huge 20 foot high window security gates with banner-like photographic window treatments from hip hop photographer and cultural observer Chi Modu's.

It sounds pretty cool.  The full schedule of shows is also on that HGTV link.  This episode is slated to air four times, the first being this Saturday night at 10pm.

And I'll say this about Paul Pierce, he's legitimately passionate about his foundation.  A lot of athletes have foundations where they will occasionally do something.  But the whole Truth on Health campaign really does something.  I feel like I've seen Paul talking about the Truth on Health mission and events every week this offseason… and more than once per week.  It's nice to see.
