Unlike most kids, Daniel Murphy didn’t always have dreams of playing baseball for a living.
That’s right, while some of Murphy’s classmates were likely spending their days fantasizing about growing up to be professional baseball players, the future New York Mets All-Star and 2015 NLCS MVP native had other plans.
“I’m more of a realist,” Murphy told Metsblog. “That’s all I could think of. You know, I was 11. I think it was the next year I decided I wanted to be a baseball player.”
The rest is history.
