Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston is a born leader.
Just ask Buccaneers wideout Cecil Shorts, who revealed Winston wrote his teammates a letter before Week 11.

The letter worked in a big way—the Buccaneers upset the Kansas City Chiefs 19-17 behind 331 passing yards and a score from Winston. The defense played the biggest part, holding the Chiefs to 343 total yards and just 24:42 time of possession.
ESPN’s Jenna Laine provided more context:
On Wednesday, three days after the Bucs beat the Chicago Bears at home 36-10 and before the team left at 7 p.m., Winston tucked a note into every single teammate’s locker. Then he stood before them as he read the letter out loud.
“I just told them how grateful I was to be their quarterback,” Winston said. “That was the main thing.”
Stories like this don’t often come up, especially on 5-5 teams with a young quarterback still trying to find his way while an organization builds the roster around him.
But the letter and the team’s response to it on the road say quite a lot about Winston, who is a long, long way from the young player who had crab legs stories and other things floating around him at one point.
Kudos to Winston, one of the leaders of the next wave of elite quarterbacks.
