Jared Goff throws first career touchdown pass (video)

Los Angeles Rams v New Orleans Saints

It took longer than most would have preferred, but Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff finally threw his first touchdown pass.

Goff, not permitted to start for the Rams despite being the No. 1 overall pick in 2016, didn’t throw a score in his first start in Week 11.

He made up for it in a big way in Week 12.

Goff took to the New Orleans Saints’ Superdome and tossed a rainbow to Tavon Austin for his first NFL touchdown:

Impressive, and ESPN Stats & Info showed just how much Goff had improved compared to his first start:

Goff only had his team up 7-0 by that point, but the 4-6 Rams aren’t looking to win games and make a miracle playoff push. They have their rookie quarterback in the fire and hoping he gains enough in the way of experience to become a franchise quarterback.

Right now, their would-be franchise quarterback walks in the flames quite comfortably—and accurately.

Welcome to the NFL, Jared Goff.
