Eric Dickerson vs. Jeff Fisher war continues

Eric Dickerson

Eric Dickerson won’t attend a Los Angeles Rams game in the near future.

Apparently the Hall of Famer has beef with current head coach Jeff Fisher. Or vice versa.

This is a long and convoluted he said-she said spat, which seemed to start right around here in an interview with Fox Sports’ Jason Smith:

Dickerson went on to say someone within the Rams told him he wasn’t welcome on the sidelines at games because of his sometimes negative outlook about the team.

The Rams, of course, have responded.

Vice president of football operations Kevin Demoff was the first:

Fisher did the same, according to Pro Football Talk’s Zac Jackson:

He’s always welcomed, yeahI’d welcome him in the building. I’d love to have him come in. I’d love to have him come to practice. I’d love to have him in come in the meetings. [Former Titans running back] Eddie George has been in my meetings more than Eric Dickerson has. I’d love to have him here.

Dickerson, meanwhile, has continued to make the rounds:

Look, Dickerson can say whatever he wants about his former team. And he’s right in many ways, with the Rams floundering, not to mention his status as a Hall of Famer who can go to any sideline he wants, when he wants. The Rams don’t have to like Dickerson’s opinions, but the last thing they should have done was let the situation devolve into this.

Alas, this is a distraction the Rams didn’t need while breaking in a rookie quarterback. How it ends isn’t easy to say.
