Richard Sherman says ‘karma’ to blame for Cam Newton, Panthers’ struggles

NFC Champion Seattle Seahawks Team Media Availability

The trash talk is already heating up heading into Sunday night’s Panthers-Seahawks game.

Richard Sherman is seemingly picking up where Cam Newton left off when the NFC title game ended back in January, and clearly has not forgotten about what happened after the game.

Newton ran around the field high-fiving Panthers fans, and when a Seahawks fan held out a “12” flag, the Carolina quarterback ripped it out of his hand and threw it on the ground.

Sherman insinuated that that’s part of his and the team’s struggles this season, in speaking to reporters on Wednesday.

The Seahawks aren’t exactly the cleanest team either, but that’s beside the point. Newton did put a target on his head with some of his actions on the field, and maybe that’s one of the reasons he’s been hit hard so many times this season.

Either way, Sunday night’s matchup is shaping up to be one heck of a game. We’ll see if Newton responds to Sherman’s jab.
