Andrew Wiggins: 2018 Stats Predictions

Minnesota Timberwolves v Atlanta Hawks

Ok, hoop heads lets talk about Andrew Wiggins, the man who is weeks away from becoming the next max player and the first on the Minnesota Timberwolves roster.

When news hit that Wiggins was on the verge of signing a max deal the hate that Wiggins received was ridiculous. It didn’t help when the Kyrie Irving news of him demanding a trade broke he mentioned the Timberwolves.

Many fans believed it was a no brainer and that Minnesota should have sent Andrew to Cleveland for Kyrie. Let me just say it would have been the worst trade ever for Minnesota.

Losing Wiggins and receiving Kyrie in return would have made Minnesota defense worst and honestly Andrew offense can catch up to Kyrie, He’s not even 25 yet people.

Don’t worry though Wiggin lovers Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Kyrie has been traded to the Boston Celtics finally.

Andrew Wiggins Progression

So getting passed the trade drama lets talks about Wiggins and what we have seen from him since coming out of Kansas in 2015.

Andrew Wiggins rookie year stats were 16.9 PPG, 4.6 RPG, and 2.1 APG, he followed that up with his 2nd year posting 20.7 PPG, 3.6 RPG, and 2.0 APG.

This Season Wiggins posted 23.6, 4.0 RPG, and 2.3 APG, now if those stats don’t jump out to you I wrote an article about Wiggins compared to some of your favorite SF in their first few years.

Prediction

22 PPG, 5 RPG, 4 APG, 1.6 STL, 1.0 BLK, 48 FG%, 38.4 FG3%

Looking at previous stats and who Tom Thibodeau will be sending out with Wiggins. We will see Wiggins in a new third scorer role.

He will still be Minnesota’s closer but he won’t start the game getting the first shots. Get used to seeing Wiggins not go off until the second quarter or later.

Him moving to the third scorer on this team will benefit his three-point percentage. Jimmy Butler is a great drive and kick player and Karl-Anthony Towns demands a ddouble-team

Wiggins biggest improvement will come on the defensive side of the ball. Adding Butler and Taj Gibson to the team with Thibodeau as a coach they could teach me how to play lock down defense.
