Tyler Reddick Gets His First Xfinty Win

It was the start of the playoffs for the Xfinity drivers as they were over to Kentucky for 200 laps of action.

The race started off with Kyle Benjamin in the race lead.  Around lap 21 it was pit stop time for Justin Allgaier to replace some bad tires.  Cole Custer started to get hot and was able to get the race lead at lap 38.  Cole then went on to win the first stage.  The leaders pit and Kyle Benjamin won the race off pit road by taking only two tires.

The second stage started off wildly as it was three wide up front early causing Cole Custer to get the race lead.  In the back Sam Hornish Jr. wound up getting hit causing him some damage to his car.  He made it to pit road without causing the caution.  Around lap 73 we do get the caution as Angela Ruch spins out.  As the green flag racing continued Cole Custer was leading more and more laps and won the second stage.  The leaders pits and Ryan Preece wins the race off pit road while Elliott Sadler did not at all.

The third stage started off with Elliott Sadler leading laps, but not many of them as Ryan Preece took the race lead.  Tyler Reddick then started to get hot and he took the race lead around lap 125.  25 more lpas go by and we start to have green flag pit stops.  During this time period Kyle Benjamin was leading a bunch of laps.  When he finally pitted Tyler Reddick was back to leading laps.  The long green flag continued with Tyler and his massive 11 second plus lead.  As the laps quickly went down the lead was up to over 14 seconds as he super easily obliterated the field at Kentucky.

“This is surreal,” said Tyler Reddick.

“Just fought track position,” said Justin Allgaier.
