Andre Iguodala will seek second opinion on knee injury

2017 NBA Finals - Game Five

The Golden State Warriors are going to the NBA Finals for a fourth straight season. But they still don’t know what’s plaguing Andre Iguodala. In fact, per ESPN’s Chris Haynes, he’s seeking a second opinion on his knee injury.

Iguodala would suffer the injury after knocking knees with James Harden in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals. And according to head coach Steve Kerr, it’s eating him up inside.

“He’s frustrated,” Kerr says. “His body has not responded at this point.”

Listen, I am not a doctor — but I do know that getting a second opinion in professional sports usually ends bad. Whenever a pitcher hurts their elbow in baseball, and needs a second opinion it’s always Tommy John surgery. Same goes with the situation in Indianapolis with Andrew Luck’s shoulder. I know I am crossing multiple sports here — but in short, second opinions mean that recovery is going wrong.

Iguodala has been key for the Warriors on defense, but he’s in a position where he can rest because this Cavaliers team ia a 12 point dog to the Warriors. Nobody in their right mind thinks Cleveland will make this a contested series, nevermind win it. Lucky for Iggy, the Warriors still have four all stars leading the charge who are all fully healthy (yes, for god’s sake Curry is healthy now shut it).
