Considering he committed three first-half penalties, it shouldn’t be surprising that Aqib Talib had an awkward moment as a Super Bowl champion.
The Broncos cornerback fell on his ass on national TV after the Broncos defeated the Panthers 24-10 in Super Bowl 50.
Talib was about to be interviewed on NFL Network when he jumped onto the platform and fell backwards. Fellow cornerback Deion Sanders helped him up and Talib was still able to do his interview.
Talib made five tackles and broke up two passes, but he was flagged for taunting, a facemask and offsides within a nine-minute span in the first half as the Panthers narrowed a 10-0 deficit to 10-7. Talib also had a little trouble covering Ted Ginn in the second half.
Perhaps that pratfall was Talib’s shining moment of the night. He provided millions with a lot of laughs.
