    • In addition to having only two third basemen on the list, both are multiple position players with Jones working at short and Diaz in the outfield and second base.
    • While quite a few relief pitchers made the list, the first seven pitchers overall are starters and the highest ranking reliever is Ben Krauth at #28.
• Of those players drafted:
  • 10 were from the 2016 draft including each of the first seven picks that year.
  • 10 were from the 2015 draft including the first six picks that year.
  • 10 were from the 2014 draft including seven of the first eight picks that year (Grant Hockin is missing).
  • 2 were from 2013, 2 from 2012 (although Calica was drafted that year and didn’t sign) and 3 from 2011.
  • Only Rob Kaminsky (from St. Louis for Brandon Moss) and Eric Stamets (from LAA for David Murphy) were not originally drafted or signed by the Indians.
• At 18 years old, Ulysses Cantu, Nolan Jones and Will Benson are the youngest players on the list. Jeff Johnson, Louis Head and Todd Hankins at 26 are the oldest.
• Changes from last season’s top 30 include:
  • 3 Players traded: Clint Frazier, Justus Sheffield (both to NYY for Andrew Miller) and James Ramsey (sold to LAD with Zach Walters)
  • 6 players promoted to Majors during 2016 and no longer eligible.
    • Tyler Naquin (5), Mike Clevinger (6), Adam Plutko (11), Shawn Morimando (13), Erik Gonzalez (23) and Ryan Merritt (24).
  • The biggest gain from 2015 was Yu-Cheng Chang at 22 places (from 30 to 8) or Anthony Santander from unranked to #10 among those not ranked.
    • Other big gainers were Tyler Krieger (+18), Greg Allen (+15) and Ka-ai Tom (+10)
  • The biggest loss was Sean Brady, who fell 21 (from 25 to 46).
    • Others who fell far were Jeff Johnson (-16), Luigi Rodriguez (-11) and Mike Papi (-11)
    • No player on the 2015 top 30 prospect list who was still eligible fell out of the top 50.
