Cardinals Win Season High 6th Game In A Row

The Cardinals will leave Milwaukee in first place.

Doesn’t matter what happens this weekend. They can lose all three games and still remain atop the NL Central. The Brewers have lost 9 straight games, while the Cardinals have won 6 straight – a season high.

Improbably, the Cards are within reach of the best record in the National League. And with another 2 wins this weekend, the new team goal won’t be to just win the division, but to secure home field advantage in the NL playoffs.

Even better?

Mike Wacha made his long-awaited return and looked good over his 3 innings of work. Over the next 6, the Brewers had their shots, but great defense and just enough guile from the bullpen pulled out a true team win.

And, oh. That defense.

Good things come to those who wait, they say.

The Cardinals are doing everything they can to prove that exactly right.
