Pretty good form. Pretty bad decision. The sacrifice was made by Carlos Beltran, he of 19 HRs, 19 2Bs and 3 3Bs in 2013. The runners moved over. And two batters later, the Cardinals had scored 1 run.
They wouldn't score again.
Wish I could tell you more about that 7th-inning sacrifice. But Matheny declined comment & Beltran was gone when clubhouse opened to media.

Good thing everyone was accountable after the game, right?
By the time the assembled masses come together this PM to talk about it, the talking points will have been made. All will be well. A mistake that (might have) ran the Dodgers winning streak on the road to 15 games and the Cardinals record to 5-12 against the 1st place teams in the NL was made.
