The Rams Futility Leads Monday Ramblin's...The Rams appreciated the fans by giving them: the third worst offensive performance in franchise history (109 total yards), surrendering 8 sacks, having a player ejected for head butting and their only pro-bowl team member verbally eviscerating the QB before later being separated from the same QB on the sidelines. Thankfully everyone in attendance got a commemorative poster from Russell Athletic to remember the latest lost season for the NFL’s worst run franchise. How pro-life groups never found time to picket the Ed Jones Dome on Sundays with live abortions going on every week still baffles me…

It’s time for Matt Holliday to sign the deal. One of the 15 or so that are on the table from the Cardinals. St. Louis is a pretty reasonable place- we promise not to call you a “loser” for only getting 85 million dollars. In fact, I want to be a loser…

In all fairness to Mike Leach, Adam Jones kind of looks like a kid you’d want to stuff in a dank closet if you had the opportunity…

Every year I read the same story about bum strife in downtown St. Louis in the local paper. And every year, I wonder the same thing. Why the F does St. Louis have bums. You know what the weather is today in Miami? 85 degrees and sunny. If you don’t have a single thing or a place to stay in STL, why not just walk to Miami. It’ll take months, but who cares? You don’t have anything better to do anyway. Plus you can be a bum in all sorts of fun places along the way! By the time you get to Miami, you’ll have a sense of accomplishment, a warm locale and a nice fluffy beach to sleep on every night. There really is no upside to being a bum here- especially now…

Mark McGwire will be made available to the media in a timely fashion. I think we finally figured out who was in charge of shipping for infomercials and providing rebate checks for special offers…

Movie Snot: Saw 2 flicks over the long weekend- Taking of Pelham 123 and Fired Up. 123 (C+) gets the plus for Denzel, who needs to be in more better movies. Tony Soprano actually played a role that made him seem a little less Tony-eee. John Travolta was fairly convincing as a nut. But I’d have to imagine that an easier extortion plot could have been thought out. Fired Up (B-) on the other hand was a flick I set the bar very low for- but was actually semi-funny. If you go into this one expecting it to be funny, it may disappoint- but the 2 guys that played the leads made some pretty tepid plot twists palatable with a witty banter that isn’t often seen in this kind of movie. It’s playing on premium movie channels pretty constantly- I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it if nothing better is on…

If you missed it, I actually worked on NYE making great entertainment for the fine folks at InsideSTL. You can read my article on the Cardinals New Year’s resolutions LINK HERE

US Fidelis promised to sponsor a charity with every Rams first down this year- a promo that was run every single Rams home game. I have doubts that this morally (my opinion) and financially (not officially, yet) bankrupt company will fulfill its obligations. I have a contact at the STL Post-Dispatch making sure that the reporters that have worked this story will follow up on this tid bit…
