Colts Power Rankings – Week 15

Each week, we’ll be scouring the net for team rankings from football experts, covering the previous week, and discussing them here. Let’s see what they have to say this week.

Colts Power Rankings - Week 15

Average Ranking: 11.69 (previously 13.77)Another important win over rival Jacksonville moves the Colts up 2 spots.

CBS Sports – Pete Prisco – 12th (+3): Just when you’re ready to bury Peyton Manning, the Colts come up big. They win their last two and they are AFC South champs.

Cold Hard Football Facts -15th (+1): Despite playing almost all of their games in either a dome or good weather, the Colts are the worst in the NFL in dropped passes (39) and in rushes of more than 10 yards (24).

ESPN – Kuharsky – 13th (+2): Can the Colts stop a threatening run game two weeks in a row, this time at Oakland?

Fox Sports – 12th (+3): That was a win the Colts had to have last week over the visiting division-rival Jaguars if they wanted to have a chance at winning the AFC South. And where has Donald Brown been all season? Who saw him having that kind of impressive performance? He looked like a first-round pick with his 129 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

National Football Post – 9th (+1): That losing streak seems like a distant memory after the Colts took over first place—again—in the AFC South.

NFL.com’s Collective Brain Trust – 10th (+2):

Michael Silver – 13th (+5): Yo, Peyton Manning – what can Brown do for you?

Sporting News – 11th (+1): QB Peyton Manning is short on playmakers, so it’s good to see RB Donald Brown finally break out.

Sports Illustrated – Don Banks – 10th (+3): The Colts and Peyton Manning came up big at home against the Jaguars, but their work doesn’t get any easier with this week’s trip to the rollercoaster-like 7-7 Raiders. Oakland is 5-2 at home this season, and the Colts are just 3-4 on the road. Indy needs to keep the offensive balance it has shown the past two weeks, and not let the Raiders’ Darren McFadden-led running game take over the game and control the clock.

Sports Illustrated – Peter King – 12th (+3): When they really needed it, the Colts had it – thanks to Donald Brown.

USA Today – 11th (+1): Seized destiny back from Jaguars after gritty win at home.

Walter Football – 13th (no change):

WEEI in Boston – 11th (+2): The Colts regained possession of the AFC South with their win over the Jags. They ran the ball well and stopped the run on defense– something they haven’t been able to do all year. They’ll close the season with games against the Raiders and Titans. If they win both, they’ll be AFC South champions once again.
