GAME 11 PREVIEW: NY Rangers vs. Boston Bruins — Last Time Bs play NY in Regular Season

We're only at Game 11 and tonight will be the last time the Bruins and the Rangers play each other in the regular season. Funny that, eh? The NHL really just wanted to cram those games all together.

First time the two teams met Boston won 3-1. In the second game, the Bruins stole a point by forcing OT only to lose on a Gaborik hat trick. A pretty goal in which he batted his rebound out of the air and passed Rask. That game was 4-3 in favor of NY but it did have Boston's first PP goal, of which we can still count them all on one hand.

The Rangers are a currently 6-5 and sitting on in the 8th seed in the East. But they're a deceptive 6-5 team. NY has gone 5-2 in their last seven games and Lundqvist is looking a bit more solid in net which is always good for NY, shitty for other teams. Not that anyone in Boston would or should expect an easy game but the Rangers aren't exactly struggling at the moment, so expect a hard played game.

Thornton won't have his dance partner as Rupp got traded to the Wild.

And, of course, the Bruins are currently in new frontier as they're off to the best start in franchise history.

Key to tonight's game will be the same as always. The Bruins need to play solid defensive hockey. Rangers have a lot of speed and skill on their top line and if Boston tries playing a run-n-gun style game it's not going to go very well. Like Vanek, the Bs need to shut Gaborik down so he doesn't score another hatty, and keeping Nash in check is always a smart idea. Both guys have 9 points in 11 games.

Also, tonight's game starts at 7:30 and not the usual 7pm, so feel free to relax an extra half hour before heading into the Garden or tossing on NESN.
