Gameday 12: Capitals at Bruins.

Records:

Boston Bruins: 5-3-0-3, 13 points, 4th in the Atlantic
Washington Capitals: 6-6-0-1, 13 points, 6th in the Metropolitan

Is this my first gameday write up? I think it is.

I must say, I started my Days of Y’Orr run as the preview guy and I really enjoyed it, but then I moved onto recaps and recaps are my jam. I apologize if this preview isn’t up to snuff. I’ll be honest with you, I’m kind of burnt out on this whole writing thing to begin with and we’re only 11 games into the season.

I know, normally, game day previews are short but you guys know me – I like to talk. A lot of the stuff I’m going to pull from our weekly preview so check it out for the full enchilada.

The biggest thing for Boston is solving Holtby. From the weekly preview:

Holtby’s history against the Bruins in sensational. Grab your puke bucket, kids.

Career vs Boston:

11-2-0, .945 save percentage (holy shit), 1.80 GAA and 3 shutouts.

The save percentage, by the way, is Holtby’s career best against anyone. 13 games isn’t a small sample size either. He feasts on the Bruins.

It’s not just Holtby either. Nicklas Backstrom is a monster against the Bruins as well. In 31 games, Backstrom has 35 points (9 goals, 26 assists) and absolutely torches Boston. He’s the main man for Alex Ovechkin. When Marshall put:

I mean, we could have put like half the Caps roster on this list

He wasn’t kidding.

The Bruins have been notoriously bad against Washington.

Leading Scorers:

Boston: Brad Marchand: 8 goals, 5 assists, 13 points
