This morning, the Boston Bruins welcomed 9-year-old netminder Maddie Santosuosso  to practice. Listen, great goaltending doesn’t know age… unless you’re Martin Brodeur. But according to the Boston Globe, Maddie practiced with the team for about fifteen minutes.

And according to ESPN, she was stopping Mr. Perfect himself.

We know what you’re thinking… goalie controversy, right? No doubt this will just stoke the fires in the “Trade Rask!” and “Trade Malcom!” cults, but Rask is shrugging it of.

“I was pretty impressed,” Rask said. “That was her first time wearing that, and she was skating around stopping pucks, so I was pretty impressed with her.”

Has Maddie surpassed Tuukka Rask on the Bruins depth chart?

We’ve heard this all before when Rask and Thomas were battling it out for the coverted 1A slot. If she impressed Rask that much, she’s probably already ahead of Chad Johnson on the depth chart. We asked Chad what he thought.

“Hi, I’m Chad Johnson,” Chad Johnson said after the practice.

As we suspected… CONTROVERSY!
