Anyone who has pics of the event shoot us an email at [email protected]. We want to create a Facebook album with everyone's pics.
Last night was Hockey Resurrection at the Harp and over 600 fans came out toe celebrate the return of the NHL and Boston Bruin hockey. Shawn Thornton, Lyndon Byers and the legendary Rene Rancourt also came out to kick off the season in fine fashion. Huge thanks to everyone who came out to party, chat us up, take pics and overall make it a kickass night. We're stoked hockey's back.
Here's a video segment from NECN on last night's event:
More after the jump…
Doors officially opend at 7pm but many fans came out an hour or two early to get things going.
The one and only Rene Rancourt was in attendance to debute his new Rancourt Tuxedo T-shirt design in partnership with Supahfans and to sing the US National Anthem. Video from Bruins Daily:

God that felt good to hear again.
Rene was on fire last night, talking with fans and taking pictures with everyone who came up to him. Harder to find a nicer or more approachable guy than Rene. He let many fans try on his Stanley Cup ring and even tried buying my (Justin's) velvet sports blazer.
We're like best friends now.
Days of Y'Orr Patron Saint and Third Greatest NHLer of All-Time Shawn Thornton was also in the house. He hung out for a bit on stage, talked with some fans and did a short Q&A Session with Joe Haggerty (video of that coming later).
Team DOY's initial reaction when meeting Thornton:
And then he said he knew who DOY was and appreciated the support from the blog. We may have fangirled a little. Ok, a lot.
LB was also there, keeping a fairly low profile but that doesn't mean people didn't track him down anyways. Here's Chuck from What's Up, Ya Sieve? and LB:
David Goucher also made a surprise visit. He spoke to crowd briefly and said his signature line "GET THE DUCK BOATS READY" to the excitement of the crowd. Free tickets and swag were handed out as well. There was a silent auction on some great Bruins memorobilia and a live auction on who was able to hit this sucker:
The winner was Mike Paolucci who took one swing at the Habs pinata. Candy, t-shirts and gift certificates rained down on the crowd. Mike says he's kept the head of the Habs pinata and has "special plans" for it. Oh man…
SupahFans also crowned the event's biggest Bruins fans and sexiest Bruins fan. Here are the finalists for the Biggest Bruins Fans:
Joe Gill wasn't a finalist. He just wanted to be in this pic. haha
Rest of the night was spent hanging out, talking hockey and having a good time.
Hockey's back.
Finally.
