Seidenberg To Boston: 4 More Years! 4 More Years!

Yesterday with about an hour until puck drop the Bruins and defenseman Dennis Seidenberg were busy handling business off of the ice. The team announced that Seidenberg agreed to a four year contract extension that will pay him $4 million dollars per year. Honestly, it's a huge hometown discount given that he's making $3.25M this season and could have potentially gotten a lot more on the open market.

After this season, Seidenberg will be the second highest paid defenseman on the team behind Zdeno Chara. If there was something I had to nitpick about this contract, it's giving a player in his early 30's a full No Movement Clause as he heads into the downslope of his career.
