In case you’ve been living under a rock or fighting people for bottled water (really people, just boil your tap water — it’s cheaper and easier, and less bloody), you’ve probably heard that Marco “Sturmface” Sturm is out for the rest of the year with another MCL/ACL tear in his right knee. And for those playing at home, Sturm did the same thing to his left knee last year. So, really, he’s just getting a matching pair of busted knees. My dog did this when I was a kid, but she was also overweight. It’s a bummer that Sturm won’t be around for the rest of the playoffs. We’ll miss his laughs, his German accent and that trademark smile after beating little kids in intense matches of ping-pong.
However his stats in the post-season this year were pretty appalling — 7 GP, 0 G, 0 A, 4 PIM 11 shots. Plus, we have this guy back.
And last time I checked he made pretty awesome faces, too.
