The Red Sox have signed Alan Embree to a minor league deal. Embree is now 40 but may still have some gas in the tank although he is not likely to be the pitcher he was in the 2004 championship season with the Red Sox. The team may need another lefty in the bullpen so there is a good chance that Embree pitches in the majors this season.
