RIP Cory Lidle

He may have been the enemy, but he was only an enemy in baseball.
Yankees pitcher Cory Lidle has been killed in a plane crash.
Condolences go out to everyone affected by Lidle’s death.
Lidle was set to be a free agent. Signed as an undrafted free agent by the Twins in 1990, he debuted for the Mets in 1997 and has since pitched for Tampa Bay, Oakland, Toronto, Cincinatti, Philadelphia, and New York. He established himself as a solid starter while with Philadelphia.
Coming over in the Bobby Abreu trade, Lidle was 4-3 with a 5.16 ERA for New York, which lost in the Division Series to the Tigers.
