Derek Jeter Just Wants Dinner

predspantherswin

Probably way too much time has been spent breaking down the hug and beard rub Derek Jeter gave Robinson Cano before the new Seattle Mariners star took on his old team.

It’s time to focus on something else.

And while I’m sure the New York Yankees captain is hoping to gain a split with Seattle when the teams wrap up their series in the Bronx on Thursday (game two was rained out Wednesday night), I’m going to go out on a limb and speculate that Jeter is expecting something else while his old double play partner is in town…and it has nothing to do with facial hair or booing fans.

Dinner.

“Considering I paid for him to eat for however many years he was here, he owes me a lot,” he future Hall of Famer joked before the Mariners hit town.  “I’ll get him one day…I’ll get him.”

If Jeter didn’t get Cano to buck up and buy dinner while he was in the Big Apple…he’s going to have to wait a while before he gets another chance.  The next time the two teams meet up is June 10 in Seattle.
