Field of Dreams Movie Site to Add 24 Baseball Fields

For years, Don and Becky Lansing had invited plenty of tourists onto their property to check out the baseball field that has been cut into their Dyersville, Iowa cornfield.

Nearly four years ago, the 193-acre plot in Eastern Iowa (which served as the home to the 1989 hit film “Field of Dreams”) was sold for close to $3.4 million to an investment group out of Chicago. Their idea? To turn the popular movie site into a 24-field youth baseball and softball complex.

Friday, after years of back and forth, an Iowa Supreme Court approved the plan and if the proposed All-Star Ballpark Heaven goes ahead as planned…it could bring close to $40 million to the sleepy Iowa town.

So, yeah, it appear they’re about to build it…now we’ll see if they come.
