Jason Grilli Joins Pearl Jam on Stage in Pittsburgh

Back in July, Pearl Jam welcomed Chicago Cubs legend Ernie Banks on stage during their concert at Wrigley Field.

So, it should come as no surprise that when the band kicked off their North American tour Friday night that they had another guest join them on stage…Pittsburgh Pirates All-Star (and Pearl Jam fan) Jason Grilli.

“Next year is our f—ing year!” Grilli shouted to the crowd during the first encore. “I love you guys! I love Pittsburgh!”

The Pirates closer joined the rock royalty on stage during their performance of “Whipping” which, as luck would have it, is also the song that Grilli uses as his entrance music.  Oh, in case you were wondering…Grilli is the big guy in flannel jumping around, not the little man in flannel in the middle of the stage.

That would be Pearl Jam front man Eddie Vedder.
