Jeremy Guthrie Has a “Shoe-seum”

I have a love-hate relationship with shows like "Cribs" or even "The Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous"…I can't help it.

Long ago, I figured out that I probably won't ever have a gold elevator in my kitchen or own my own personal island and you know what?  I'm fine with that.  That said, why do I kill myself watching shows where people do?!?

Enter "Nice Kicks"…a YouTube-based series (and website) that is the self-proclaimed "premier spot for sneaker news, info and history".  Yup.  A thing like that exists.  And I can't get enough of it.

Recently, host George Kiel dropped by big leaguer Jeremy Guthrie's crib, er, house to check out his shoe vault.  Yeah, dude literally has a vault in his house teeming with shoes and as he says "98% of it is Jordans".

Guthrie's collection started with a pair of Nike Air Jordan 4s back in 1989 when he was 10 and he's been collecting ever since.  I've gotta think Guthrie's recent three-year $25 million contract with the Kansas City Royals will help fill up another room quite nicely.

Also in Guthrie's amazing collection, a wall full of nearly all of Sports Illustrated magazines Michael Jordan appeared on, some customed-made baseball cleats (including a pair made for Cal Ripken Jr. for his final All-Star game), a slew of autographed shoes and, naturally, those glorious "Back to the Future"-inspired kicks from a few years ago.

The righty doesn't divulge how many shoes he owns, but he has enough that his wife Jenny jokes that the UPS man once asked her if they owned a shoe store.
