It had been rumored, but on Monday, it became a reality. The St. Louis Cardinals cut ties with Hall favorite, reliever John Axford.
The righty became one of 43 new free agents after he was not offered a a new contract by the Cards.
But, fear not, the 2011 winner of the prestigious American Mustache Institute's annual Robert Goulet Memorial Mustached American of the Year award was quick to take to Twitter and post his credentials.
MST (Man Seeking Team) – Tall athletic male with blue/green eyes and a love for film and mustaches seeking loving team for employment!

Now, I'm not sure his love of film and mustaches will net him employment, but this might. Axford is a former National League saves champ (he had 46 in 2011) and in his 13 appearances with St. Louis this past season…he gave up just two earned runs.
