Jonathan Papelbon Comments on Boston Tragedy

He might not be a member of the Boston Red Sox, but Jonathan Papelbon's heart still appears to be very much in Bean Town and his mind focused on those affected by the bombings following the Boston Marathon.

"I used to live right above where one of the bombs went off,” the current Philadelphia Phillies closer said Monday afternoon. "It’s kind of surreal. I don’t know man, it’s crazy. It’s hard to even think about. It’s sad, man.”

Papelbon was an integral part of the Red Sox team that won the 2007 World Series.  He joined the Phillies prior to the 2012 season.

“I’m looking at it right now and I’m like, damn I used to live right there,” said Papelbon, who, apparently, still has friends in the building on Boylston Street. “I can’t get in touch with anyone right now. It’s hard to get in touch with anybody there right now.”

Obviously, thoughts and prayers go out to anyone and everyone involved.
