Julio Lugo in Trouble in the Dominican Republic

SerialStillers1Front

Former big leaguer Julio Lugo is in some hot water down in the Dominican Republic.

According to reports, Lugo and four other men were responsible for the kidnapping of a couple at gun point and demanded money from them. Warrants have been issued for Lugo’s arrest in Santo Domingo and La Romana. The charge? Kidnapping. However, some are asking folks not to jump to any conclusions.

However this whole thing shakes out, it’s not like this is Lugo’s first time running afoul of law enforcement. While with the Houston Astros in 2003, dude was arrested and charged with hitting his wife in the face and slamming her head on a car hood.

Lugo played 12 years in Major League Baseball, including a stint with the 2007 World Champion Boston Red Sox. He played for seven different teams, cobbling together a .269 lifetime batting average.

The former shortstop last saw action in the Majors in 2011 with the Atlanta Braves.
