Linebacker Karlos Dansby is already taking a subtle swipe at this soon-to-be-former team.
Dansby has been informed that he’ll be released by the Browns, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, and has said “I’m sure the Bengals are licking their chops right now.”
The 34-year-old is stirring the pot by bringing up a division rival as a potential suitor for his services. The only reasonable explanation for the Browns cutting Dansby is his age and their desire to wipe the slate completely clean.
Re Karlos Dansby he’s been a very productive player in his career, put up good numbers over the last couple years, depth & leadership.

Dansby returned two of his three interceptions for touchdowns last season, broke up six passes and forced three fumbles. He also led the Browns with 63 tackles.
He failed to record a sack for the first time in his career, however. And he did man the middle of a defense that was 26th with 4.5 yards allowed per carry.
Perhaps Dansby’s veteran leadership is a missing piece for a team with the talent in place to be a Super Bowl contender.
Even with Dansby, the Browns have a lot of missing pieces.
