Game 22 Recap: Blue Jackets Beat Bolts 5-3

The Tampa Basy Lightning’s season of inconsistency continued last night as the Columbus Blue Jackets beat them 5-3 behind Sergei Bobrovsky‘s 25 saves and Brandon Saad‘s, Cam Atkinson‘s and Alexander Wennberg‘s two points each.

Nikita Kucherov had a goal and an assist for the Lightning (13-8-1), who got 33 saves from Ben Bishop. Defenseman Jason Garrison and Ondrej Palat also scored.

Palat tied the game 3-3 at 3:37 of the third period during a delayed penalty call. Kucherov controlled the puck at the point and found Palat going to the net to the net who scored off a redirection.

Tampa Bay made it a one-goal game again with 1:32 remaining in the second period when Garrison scored his first goal of the season. Garrison’s shot was saved by Bobrovsky, who couldn’t cover the puck. Ryan Callahan charged in and missed a rebound attempt, but Garrison put in the rebound.

The Bolts travel to Boston to take on the Bruins at on Sunday at 1:00 PM.
