According to TSN’s Bob McKenzie, Lightning captain Steven Stamkos is heading to Vail, Colorado to undergo arthroscopic knee surgery to repair a lateral meniscus tear.
The estimate for recovery is four months.
Without Stamkos tonight vs. Buffalo, here’s what the lines look like: Palat-Namestnikov-Kucherov/ Kilorn-Johnson-Point/ Boyle-Paquette-Brown/ Callahan-Filppula-Drouin
Syracuse is a close drive to Buffalo, but so far no call-up.
Update: Steven Stamkos had surgery to repair the meniscus today. He is expected to miss approximately four months.
