– Since joining the Oilers in 2009-10, Khabibulin is 0-2-0 against the Rangers including surrendered a career-worst eight goals in an 8-2 loss at Madison Square Garden last year.

– C Sam Gagner (ankle) is expected to make his season debut tonight.

– Ryan Smyth is back with the Oilers and has 2g, 2a on the season.

– 2011 first overall pick Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, who leads the Oilers in goals (4) and points (5), may sit tonight according to the Edmonton Journal. NHL teams have nine games to audition junior-eligible players and Renney says he wants to get a look at his team without Nugent-Hopkins before making a decision on the young star.

– Former Rangers defensive prospect Corey Potter has two assists and is a -1 in four games.

– RW Ales Hemsky (shoulder) is out until early November.
