This morning, the Miami Dolphins got outside in the heat and humidity and continued their organized team activities. Judging by the tweets shared by various Dolphins beat reporters, the Dolphins defense seemed to dominate the right side of the line. Specifically, Cam Wake appeared to take over the session dominating first round draft pick Ja’wuan James.
Said Chris Perkins of the Sun Sentinel:
This is an interesting assertion of James performance and while it might be too early to say, it seems eerily reminiscent of Jonathan Martin as a rookie having trouble blocking in training camp.
Even ESPN’s James Walker got into the mix about the Dolphins offensive line woes today:
In addition, the offensive line-Jason Fox specifically could be dropping in the depth chart according to Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Is Jason Fox the answer at guard?
For the Ryan Tannehill fans, he did something that he didn’t do often in the Sherman offensive scheme: RUN!
Lastly, watch out for Stephen Williams, the Dolphins off season signee, last played in Jacksonville and former UDFA from Toledo. Williams could impress the Dolphins coaches with his size and ball skills, especially as a red zone threat.
All in all, today was not a very productive day with the Dolphins offensive line, offense, nor were they as crisp as last Monday. Several penalties ensued when the wide receivers started in motion. It’s not going to be that simple to master a playbook from the guru they call Mr. Bill Lazor.
However, with less than 90 days before the opening season, look for the Dolphins coaches and players to get going during training camp. There is so little time to be wasteful, but it’s nice to hear that Mike Wallace is catching passes after practices, albeit one-handed.
Phins Up to all the Dolphins faithful!
