Here is some new video recently uploaded to YouTube. It features KG's last high school game in 1995 between his Farragut Admirals and the underdog Thornton Wildcats in the Illinois class AA state quarterfinals. KG missed a potential game-tying 3 with 4 seconds left, and his Admirals lost 46-43. Farragut was ranked #1 in the state of Illinois at the time, and this was a stunning upset. KG finished with 17 pts, 16 boards & 7 blocks. And you can see his penchant for trying to block any and every shot near the rim came early-on.
Thornton High's squad was led by future San Francisco 49ers' wide-receiver Tai Streets and also featured NFL players Antwaan Randle-El and Napolean Harris. Farragut High's other big star, and KG's partner in crime, was Ronnie Fields. Fields' future looked to be just as bright as Garnett's at the time, but a car accident and academic troubles doomed it in the end. Fields never made it to the NBA.
