Seahawks fan starts petition to ban Cam Newton from CenturyLink Field

A Seahawks fan is trying to get Cam Newton banned from CenturyLink Field when the Panthers play there next season.

A petition started by Andrew Tilton on seeks to ban the “unprofessional, unsportsmanlike” Panthers quarterback from the stadium and that “This should teach him to put his arrogance in check!!”

And this petition had almost 900 signatures as of 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Apparently Tilton and his supporters are sick of “The Dab” and some of Newton’s other demonstrative behavior, but they have short memories. Newton might rub some fans the wrong way, but Richard Sherman hasn’t?

The Seahawks went to two straight Super Bowls. That Carolina game will be tough to win next season, but the Seahawks don’t need to stoop to the level of banning Newton from the stadium to win that game. And if they did beat a Panthers team without Newton, it would be a hollow victory anyway.
