After waiting past the deadline to make an announcement on who the final release was going to be, it turned out to be defensive back Stevie Brown.
A South Florida radio host kicked up a rumor on twitter today that Mike Mitchell was supposed to be the final cut, but Al Davis would not allow it. This sounds plausable enough, coinsidering Davis’s reputation, but Mitchell is a seocnd year player with a solid work ethic and a strong preseason. It was a move that would have made zero sense.
Stevie Brown had a strong camp and preseason, it would have been expected that journeyman Hiram Eugene would have been the casualty to keep Brown, had the coaches been as set on him as the rumor claimed.
