Brewers can’t solve Moyer; Phils split series with 3-1 win

Let’s face it–Jamie Moyer is older than dirt (well, older than most of the houses in Brookfield anyway).
When I heard that Moyer was getting the start, I assumed that the Brewers had seen him enough to hit his crazy junk…well, the old dog must still have something.
Moyer lasted 6 IP, surrendered 8 hits and 3 walks…but only one run–Ryan Braun driving in Rickie Weeks in the 3rd. But that was the only run for the Brewers Thursday.
Jeff Suppan had his best start of the season–no runs through the first 5 innings, and then only a solo home run to Jayson Werth in the 6th. Suppan left after 7 IP, having thrown 92 pitches (51 of them for strikes), and lowered his ERA for the season to 3.48. David Riske was called in to pitch the 8th, and surrendered a pair of runs on a Pat Burrell double.
Braun and Bill Hall each went 3-for-4 to make their BA’s a bit more respectable–Braun is now hitting .270 on the year, while Hall sits at .202.
