Brewers played “worst” game of the year

Sunday’s 10-1 blow out by the Padres can be summed up in three sentences:
1. Padres’ starter Chris Young pitched a perfect game through 7 2/3rd innings
2. Brewers’ radio announcer Jim Powell described the Brewers’ performance as “the worst” of the 2008 season
3. And, to pour salt in the wounds, the Phillies won…at least their first game.
Manny Parra allowed 6 runs over 5 IP…but only 1 was earned, thanks to errors by J.J. Hardy and Bill Hall.
Gabe Kapler broke up the perfect game, the no-hitter, and the shutout by hitting a solo home run with two outs in the bottom of the 8th. Mat Gamel added a hit in the 9th.
The Brewers head to the road for series against the Reds, Phillies, and Cubs. With 19 games left in the regular season, the Brewers still trail the Cubs by 4 games. Onto Cincy, where the Crew needs to take two out of three to build momentum (and a cushion) heading into Philly for four games.
