Giants players criticize Ben McAdoo, placing him firmly on hot seat

The Giants’ 2017 campaign has been a disaster up to this point. New York has a 1-7 record, and the wheels are beginning to fall off for the team.

That’s stirring up a lot of criticism toward head coach Ben McAdoo. McAdoo, who is now in his second year as the team’s head honcho, was a bit of an experimental hire to begin with, as he was formerly an offensive coordinator. And things don’t seem to be working out with him.

Not only that, Giants players are beginning to speak out about him, and that normally spells the end of a coach’s tenure.

Two Giants players spoke to ESPN’s Josina Anderson under conditions of anonymity, and had this to say.

“McAdoo has lost this team. He’s got us going 80 percent on Saturdays before we get on the plane to play a game, it’s wild. Changed our off day,” one player said. “He’s dishing out fines like crazy. Suspended two of our stars when we need them most. Throws us under the bus all the time.

“He’s [run] us into the ground and people wonder why we’ve been getting got.”

That seems to be true, as McAdoo has had no problems throwing Eli Manning under the bus.

Another player commented that ““guys are giving up on the season and nothing is being done. Guys just don’t care anymore.”

Their play on the field speaks volumes, and it does indeed look like the Giants players don’t care. We can expect more losses in the second half of the season, and a head coaching vacancy at some point between now and February as a result.
