Report: Dion Lewis back at practice after starting season on PUP list

As if having the sixth-rated rushing offense wasn’t enough, the New England Patriots are getting Dion Lewis back.

The fifth-year running back returned to practice on Thursday after starting the season on the physically unable to perform list. He tore his left ACL last November, but needed a second knee surgery this August.

The Patriots have 21 days to activate Lewis to the active roster, or he will revert back to injured reserve.

With a bye week following the game at Buffalo on Sunday, Lewis in all likelihood would return before the team’s road game against San Francisco on Nov. 20.

Lewis had 622 yards from scrimmage and four total touchdowns last season.
