Not a lot has gone right for the Houston Rockets during the playoffs thus far. The Blazers took both Game 1 and 2, and LaMarcus Aldridge has been playing like a man possessed—posting back-to-back 40-point performances.
And late in the fourth quarter of Wednesday’s game, we saw more of the same. With 2:33 remaining, and Portland clinging to a 102-94 lead, Houston’s Jeremy Lin drove to the hoop in what looked to be a floater or layup attempt.
But unfortunately for him, Blazers C Robin Lopez was posted up in the paint waiting for him. He timed his jump perfectly and swatted the ball into the crowd with authority. In fact, it beamed a cameraman who was sitting courtside.
Lesson learned: Do not attempt to drive the lane against Lopez.
