Yasiel Puig busted out his best Dikembe Mutombo impersonation in Tuesday’s Dodgers-Tigers matchup after a call was overturned in the second inning of the game.
After Tigers Torii Hunter blasted an offspeed pitch off the right field wall, Puig played it well on one bounce and threw an absolute dart to second base. Hunter was initially called out at second, and Puig would’ve been credited with an outfield assist.
But the play was challenged, and was later overturned. The video showed SS Miguel Rojas was late on the tag, and Hunter was ruled safe. And well, Puig wanted to warn his opponent about trying to run on him next time. So of course he gave the ole finger wag in Hunter’s direction.
