Running on empty: CC runs out of gas; Brewers lose again

A five-run 2nd inning was all that Brett Myers and the Phillies would need to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-5 NLDS, as Philly dropped the Brewers for the second straight day, this time by a score of 5-2.
CC Sabathia was obviously exhausted…he lasted just 3 2/3rds innings, gave up 6 hits and 4 walks leading to 5 runs, all earned–4 of those on a Shane Victorino grand slam.
The Brewers’ offense was nowhere to be found, as they could only muster a three hits on the night, with two of those by Ryan Braun. Still, the Crew plated a pair–Myers walked J.J. Hardy with the bases loaded in the 1st to plate Ray Durham; Hardy scored in the 7th inning on a Craig Counsell grounder.
Milwaukee returns home having to win three straight against the Phillies. Either Dave Bush or Jeff Suppan will get the nod on Saturday, with Yovani Gallardo the likely candidate to pitch on Sunday on three days rest.
The only consolation? The Cubs’ aren’t doing any better against the Dodgers….
