“I’ve never seen anything like this before”

Buckle up kids.  This year is going to be a great one.  We're 1 day into the pre-season and everyone is walking around in amazement after seeing how well everyone is working together.  The quote in the headline comes from a guy who probably won't even be around much longer to see everything really come together.

"I've never seen a brotherhood [like this before], how everybody's
together off the floor and on the floor," [Michael] Sweetney said. "On the floor,
you see guys competing so hard, and when they leave the floor they
don't take it with them. I've just never seen anything like that. It's
a great organization to be in."

It doesn't stop there.  There was a lot of post-practice talk about how great our second unit looks.

“They looked really good,’’ said
Pierce. “You’ve got guys who understand the game. You have such a high
IQ on the second unit, and that’s something we haven’t had here in a
while.

“Our second unit could be a starting unit for a lot of teams around the league.’’

Doc was impressed too

“The biggest thing that stood out to
me today was the second unit,’’ Rivers said. “I bet Marquis played
point 75 percent of the time, Eddie 25 percent, and they’ve already
figured out the rhythm of whoever has the ball, that’s the point guard
in our offense.

“They just
know how to play. And I thought for the first time in two years – last
year I didn’t think we had that – the first unit had to play today,
because the second unit was capable. The second unit beat them a couple
of times, which was great.’’

The second unit might include Lester Hudson if the Marquis Daniels/Eddie House thing doesn't work.  He has signed a 1 year deal.  It might NOT include Tony Allen.  He's still stuck on the sidelines and falling down the depth chart while everyone raves about how awesome everyone else is so awesome.

Sorry Tony.  It's just not working out. (that's my impression of Danny Ainge in 3 weeks as he releases him.  Pretty good,  huh?)
