Your Morning Dump… Where Doc would run for President

Every
morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here…
highlighting the big storyline.  Because there’s nothing quite as
satisfying as a good morning dump.

“I think all of them should make it,” he said. “You assume Kevin and
Paul, and the other three you have to call for, and get lied to. Of
course I’ll vote – I think every coach tells you that. Every once in a
while you’ll get one who says, no, I’m voting for my guy, and it will
hurt him. I like the honesty. At least you know.”

Rivers said he likes the process even if, by opening the vote up to China, he admits that the process has been “skewed.”

“It’s a powerful vote,” he said with a laugh. “If I could get the
China vote I would run for president. It does skew things, but it’s
part of the process, and it’s only the starting five.”

China isn’t content pulling the strings of America’s economy… they’ve got to screw with our pro sports leagues, too.

Ray Allen has an interesting idea about counting the fan vote for only half the All Star vote:  Give them 50% of the vote and the other 50% should be split among coaches and players.

I know that in the end it’s “just” the All Star game starters… but Ray’s got a good point about someone like Tracy McGrady getting in and costing a guy who deserves a shot.  It’s a chance for maybe some unheralded guys who deserve a chance to get noticed by fans.  Who knows what that could lead to?  Endorsements?  A bigger contract?

It’s an exhibition… but for some guys its more than that.

Coming up, Page 2… where the walking wounded are a little less wounded

“Just on the defensive end, I think there are some nights we look like
we’re in a rhythm in the defensive end, and sometimes we’re not,”
Perkins said. “I know with Rasheed back in, there will be a whole lot
of talking — talking on defense that will help us get back on track.

“It’s been kind of hard. You get on the same page as Kevin, then Kevin
goes down. You get on the same page as Sheed, then Sheed goes down. Now
we’re working to get on the same page as [Brian Scalabrine] and [Glen Davis],
but it takes time. It does help that we get to get reps with different
guys, but I’ll be happy to have Rasheed back. And when Kevin comes
back, that’ll be great, too.”

Chris Forsberg – Wallace return a big benefit

Ya think?

It’ll be nice to get Sheed back.  With the possibility of KG coming back on Friday… we could be getting the band back together for a nice little run going into the All Star break.

Nothing new on Pierce’s knee, by the way.  We don’t know yet if getting knocked by Shelden Williams yesterday led to any additional swelling.
