Eagles Eye Winnings to Haiti Relief

As nine Eagle players and a bunch of Eagles’ staff enjoy the Pro Bowl festivities in Miami this week, and several front-office personnel and scouts for the Eagles are looking over prospects at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama,  we have a timely reminder from the tragic and horrific events in Haiti to put perspective on what we do here at Eagles Eye.

You may remember we launched an on-line sports betting experiment here at the beginning of this past season.  The idea was to test the workings of one of the legal, licensed on-line casinos that features wagering on NFL games.

We also promised to donate all winnings (if any) to a nationally-recognized charity at the end of the season.

As fate would have it, the Eagles beat the Vegas spread in 10 of their 17 games this past season, netting us a total of $150 in winnings based upon our weekly maximum bet set at $50.

And as the season ended, untold destruction and suffering fell upon the people of Haiti. Selecting the charity for our donation became a no-brainer. We are glad to send the winnings to the Red Cross Relief Fund for Haiti.

In an Eagles Eye way, the Philadelphia Eagles gave us a little more than just entertainment by beating the spread as often as they did.  Meanwhile, the relief effort goes on. Our small donation is just a drop in the ocean.
