Enemy Chatter: “There was nobody there.”

I often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers
are saying about the Celtics after playing the Celtics. Here's a dose
of 'enemy chatter' from Orlando.

“Turned the corner with my right hand, took it to the basket and was
expecting the defense to collapse,” he said. “I was surprised when I turned to
the basket there was nobody there.”

Rashard Lewis – AP Game Recap

"That's the best he's played against their big guys in the low post,"
Magic coach Stan Van Gundy said. "I thought that he looked tremendous
down there, and we kept going to him in the fourth quarter because he
was playing so well. I just think [that] we were able to get him the
ball in the fourth was the big thing."

SVG on Dwight Howard – Orlando Sentinel

Tired of seeing Howard hammered on a hard foul, Magic small forward
Matt Barnes confronted Boston’s Paul Pierce early in Thursday’s first
quarter. Pierce made no attempt on the ball and wrapped both arms
around Howard, drawing a whistle. Barnes went to the defense of Howard,
going head to head with Pierce. Both Barnes and Pierce were issued
technical fouls. …

John Denton – NBA.com

On Page 2, even the Magic bloggers can't believe what transpired in the game.

And I know what you are thinking at this point: Rashard Lewis driving to the hole? Redick hitting a game-tying 3-pointer?

Just wait, it gets better. Not only did Dwight Howard dominate
Kendrick Perkins, Rasheed Wallace, Kevin Garnett and anybody else
Boston sent at him in the fourth quarter — 19 points on 8-of-12
shooting and a variety of offensive moves to go with 10 rebounds and
four blocks — but he did that with Marcin Gortat playing alongside him
for the entire fourth quarter.

Wait, it gets better.

Orlando, ranked 24th in the league in offensive rebounds, grabbed 17
offensive boards helping the team erase a 16-point deficit. This on a
night when the team was not shooting particularly well from anywhere,
Ray Allen found a nice rhythm in the second quarter.
